Perry, Farmers square off in energy battle
Well aren’t the corn producers being payed for their corn by the oil companies and federal government? Of course they would disagree with Gov. Perry.

Obaman Sense?
Democratic candidate Barack Obama may have some sense after all? He’s now at odds with the NAACP over reparations for slavery. It’s been 143 since the slaves were freed. There have been plenty of hardships for the black people after the Civil War, but to suggest that they need compensation for their ancestors’ plight is just plain ridiculous.
Here is something I think I can agree with Obama on: The best reparations are not handouts. What good is a government hand out going to do? Seriously, they have all the same superficial opportunities, and they should do their best to capitalize on them. Where Obama is wrong though, is that he still wants government intervention in employment and education. At least he is sensible on reparations. Should he consult his wife first, or has she found a love for this country all of a sudden?
The NAACP admits that the reparations should be “broad and sweeping.” But, with their track record, I wouldn’t trust them.
Let’s hope Obama sticks to his guns on this issue. He needs to find something to stick to eventually.

Defending the American Dream Summit
A very warm thanks should go to Peggy Venable and Americans for Prosperity-Texas for hosting the event this past weekend [July 18-19].
It was a great opportunity to learn about new media resources and how the right can take its fight into the 21st century more effectively. Ryan and I were glad to attend this event. We were taught so much in such a short time that should be very beneficial to our group.
Visit http://www.americansforprosperity.org/index.php?state=tx for more details about the convention and the organization.
